history

The late session is an Anglican Bible Study group, affiliated to Breadsall Church, Derby. We currently have around 14 regular members.

October 2004 was our 10th anniversary. Although people have come and gone, six of the original members still remain.

In October 2004 we had a service of thanksgiving for our tenth anniversary at Breadsall Parish Church.

The late session has not always had this name > it started out as a house youth group in 1994, named Breadsall Church Youth Group.Church

In around 2000 it started to meet in the village hall, and was re-named y:pig? (young people interested in God?).

The membership grew until there were a lot of younger members, until in 2002/3 the youth group spilt into two parts:

y:pig?, a group for young people aged about 11-16, interested in finding out about God, and...
...the late session, a group for young adults, interested in furthering their faith in God and learning more about Him, His teachings, and His plan for our lives.

It is called the late session because we used to meet later than the y:pig group, and the meetings often continue until late at night.

After 2002 the late session once again went back to its roots and became a house based group again.

In 2005 we re-structured  the group - it is now very focussed on fellowship and learning, although we still enjoy social evenings too!

In 2008 it is still going strong, with more new members joining all the time to learn more about God and His plan for our lives.
