what exactly is coveting?
we have been discussing this as a group whilst looking at the Ten Commandments
according to the Bible, the Tenth Commandment states:
[EXODUS//20:17]
You shall not covet your neighbour's house. You shall not covet your neighbour's wife, not his manservant or maidservant, his ox ordonkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.
according to the dictionary, coveting is:
"to desire or wish for eagerly: to wish for wrongfully"
so what does the commandment mean?
does it mean that we mustn't eagerly desire what our friends and family have, especially things that we don't have ourselves?
furthermore, what should/shouldn't we be buying at all?
what would Jesus have bought during His time on earth?
what would He buy if He were here on the earth now?
