healing

talking about...healing

healing was a major part of Jesus' ministry, and it follows that it should be a major part of ours, both individually and as a Church

the apostles were annointed with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost
[Acts//2:1-4]
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

and consequently, many were healed though faith and the power of the Spirit[Acts//5:12a and 16]
The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people.Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.

One major part of the work of the Holy Spirit is to open people's eyes to the Lord through signs and wonders such as healing
[Acts//5:14]
Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.

Many people continue to be healed today by the power of the Holy Spirit, often through prayer, the laying on of hands, and the annointing of oil

DISCUSSION POINTS:

  • do you have an experience of healing?
  • does God heal today?
  • how should we pray for healing?
  • do you think God heals in any other ways than through prayer?
