Lent - what will you do?
The Church has now entered the period of the Church calendar it calls Lent - this is the time when we remember Jesus spending 40 days and 40 nights in the desert. The Church uses this time to reflect on the discipline, temptation and holiness of Jesus, and the coming time of his crucifixion and his resurrection at Easter.
Some Christians discipline themselves by attending special church services and meditations during this time. Others commit themselves to giving something up, or even taking something up.
Many of us as the late session are following a Church of England booklet called LoveLifeLiveLent.
